Sea of Color
Ahoy! Summer sails are upon us—and we couldn't feel more buoyant. Especially because we've stowed away a few pieces of the hot new MAC Color and Bronzing Collection. The pigments are deep, the textures are luscious, and there are enough shades to suit many ports of call.

Clockwise from top: MAC Cosmetics Suntints SPF 20 Liquid Lip Balm in Au Rosé ($16), Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Throw Me a Line! and Shore Leave ($19 each), Bronzing Powder in Soft Sand ($24), High-Light Powder in Crew ($28), and Lipstick in Sail La Vie ($15.50)

A Hair-Raising Tale
Once upon a time (last week), we tried to convince a fine-haired friend to use a dry shampoo. "But I wash my hair every morning, always," she said. She didn't realize, and maybe you don't either, that dry shampoo can give a healthy boost to fine—and, yes, freshly washed—hair. Shu Uemura Art of Hair Volume Maker ($48, ShuUemuraArtofHair-USA.com) comes in a brush applicator to help you get the powder exactly where you need the most lift. Press the button at the bottom to release a bit of the white silica shampoo; then use the goat-hair bristles (the same found in Shu Uemura's gorgeous makeup brushes) to work it back and forth along your roots. Our fine-haired friend's happy ending: a blow-out that held its lift all day.

First Impressions
It may be true that you can't judge a blush by its cover, but I instantly loved this lightweight blush and bronzing powder compact that arrived in a chic, summery Pucci pouch. Use the bronzer for an allover warm glow, or the blush for a flush just on your cheeks. (Guerlain Terra Azzurra Bronzing Powder & Blush, $75, Saks.com.)
