Longer gloves look fantastic with three-quarter-sleeved coats: Any embellishment on the glove will be visible, and you'll still be warm. Worried about a too-fancy "opera glove" look? Scrunch them at the forearm for a more casual effect.

Buttery leather and two-tone knits combine for a funky, layered look. ($35; HM.com for stores)

This bordeaux shade looks great with black accessories; silver hardware adds a touch of cool. ($248; Coach.com)

Let the braided detail peek out—to give an unexpected twist to a classic look. (Sportmax, $625; 212-674-1817)

Pull these faux-fur cuffs over a fitted black turtleneck or blazer for instant glamour. ($88; BetseyJohnson.com)

Brightly colored gloves are surprisingly wearable. Pair these with charcoal, black, and navy. (M Missoni, $395; 212-431-6500)
