"If you don't want to incorporate the biggest trend in fashion, which are ruffles everywhere, you can do it in an accessory," she says. "The ruffle on the shoe is fun." Mary Alice also gives the black dress an edge with some tough pearls. "Pearls are not so precious anymore. We're seeing pearls mixed with chains, pearls mixed with studs," she says. "Great way to kind of glam up all those little black dresses we have in our closet."
