Treat Yourself: Fashion That Looks Good Enough to Eat
Project Runway All Stars host Angela Lindvall models stylish confections—juicy colors, luscious fabrics, sweet silhouettes—that look good enough to eat.

So many people wear black and neutrals, but it's really fun to play with color," says Lindvall, 33, of the tangerine and lemon brights she models here. The produce she's pushing isn't just for show, either: "I live on a small farm and grow vegetables in my garden, so I'm a big supporter of sustainable local agriculture," she says. "It's something I'm really passionate about."
Jacket, Elizabeth and James, $385. Tee, Joe Fresh, $19. Skirt, Rag & Bone, $290. Necklace, Lydell NYC. Sunglasses, Oliver Peoples, $460; 310-657-2553. Bracelet, Marlyn Schiff, $44. Bag, MZ Wallace, $185. Wedges, Charles David, $275; 310-659-7110.
Amp up the deliciousness of a watercolor skirt (Teri Jon, $220) by pairing it with a bright blue sweater (Katie Ermilio, $695) and pink cardigan (J.Crew, $90) instead of the expected neutral. "This is really cute and girly," says Lindvall, who started modeling at 14. "I've always been a bit of a tomboy, but since I became a mother, I've developed my feminine side."
A hard-candy-inspired top (Karen Walker, $165) gets even sweeter when belted over a floaty pink silk chiffon skirt (Heidi Merrick, $312). "It's okay to have candy every now and then," says Lindvall, mother of two boys, Dakota, 9, and Sebastian, 6. "It's an indulgence, kind of like fashion."
"This look is my favorite," says Lindvall of the ladylike Katie Ermilio sheath ($1,250). "Powder blue is my kind of color—I tend to go for more muted color when I'm not working." Tribal-inspired DKNY platforms add a fun, unexpected touch.
Tip: Save the kitten heels for another day. Harder-edged shoes keep colorful looks from becoming too saccharine.
"The beadwork is really beautiful on this dress [Chris Benz, $1,395], but there's also an element of easiness," says Lindvall, who is putting her attention to detail to good use on Project Runway All Stars. "Having been in the business for a long time, I've really got a sense of what works and what doesn't."
"This is something I would wear to a wedding party," says Lindvall of her 2b.RYCH jacket ($352) and pale green sequin skirt (Diane von Furstenberg, $695). "It's really pretty and polished."
