Spring is in the air, and Nate says no one puts a spring in your step quite like Brian Atwood, one of the hottest shoe designers in fashion today. Since launching his namesake shoe line in 2001, Brian's designs have become some of the most coveted creations among celebrities and fashion lovers alike. Nate talks with Brian about some of the key fashion trends he's honing in on for the Spring 2008 season:

  • The mood: Spring is about fashion's softer side. "It's a very feminine spring season this year—it's almost very bohemian in a sense," Brian says.
  • The look: Light and airy fabrics are balanced with heavier, chunkier accessories for an up-to-date spring look, Brian says. Cinch a cotton dress with a wide belt or carry a huge hobo patent leather bag.
  • The palette: Nude hues are definitely hot for spring, Brian says. "The colors are almost as if they're washed out by sand," he says. "You see a lot of light colors that are faded out but in a very sensual way." To punch it up, Brian says "bright brights," such as pink and yellow, are equally in style.
  • The must-have accessories: Brian says patent leather shoes and purses are a must for every woman's spring wardrobe. Nude bags and pumps, wooden platforms and flat thong sandals are also chic and popular, he says.
