If you need skincare benefits, try Algenist Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50 ($38; algenist.com), which contains alguronic acid and a blend of antioxidants to treat and prevent signs of aging.

For sheer color and a matte finish: The oil-free formula of Clarins UV Plus HP SPF 40 Day Screen Tint ($40; clarinsusa.com) comes in three shades that brighten and even skin tone.

Get a high shine and pink tint with Nivea A Kiss of Natural Volume Glossy Lip Care SPF 15 ($4; drugstores); the vitamin E and macadamia seed oil deeply moisturize.

Start applying Supergoop! SPF 20 Gradual Self-Tanning Sunscreen Mousse ($38; nordstrom.com) a few days before your first trip to the pool or beach. The rich lotion contains moisturizing ingredients (like glycerin) to leave skin smooth and streak-free.

Protect often-overlooked areas, like the tops of your ears and the delicate skin around your eyes, with a sunscreen stick. Try MDSolarSciences Natural Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 40 ($13; mdsolarsciences.com).

Water-resistant L'Oréal Paris Sublime Sun Hydra Lotion Spray SPF 50+ ($11; drugstores) shields skin from UV rays for up to 80 minutes of swimming. It sprays at any angle—even upside down—so you can easily cover hard-to-reach areas like your back.

When you want an extra hit of hydration, spray on Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 30 Luxurious Protective Oil ($29; vichyusa.com). Grapeseed oil and vitamin E leave skin soft, with no sticky or shiny residue.
