Q: What do you think about the appropriateness of wearing sneakers to the office?

A: I cringe at the sight of a woman in a nice suit with white athletic shoes, looking like Melanie Griffith in Working Girl. Even sleek, low-profile sneakers, while fine for your commute, are too informal for a traditional office. Change into your heels outside the building if you must wear sneakers. Remember: First impressions are all-important.


Don't sneak these into the workplace unless your office is relaxed. But I'm crazy about their cool fusion of walkability and style.
