Q: Is it true that hair removed by laser or electrolysis comes back after you have a baby?

A: No…though it might look that way. In general, about 20 percent of hair will always grow back after laser or electrolysis, says David Colbert, MD, founder of the New York Dermatology Group. When you're pregnant, hormonal surges increase hair growth on the body, so you might think that you see more regrowth than you actually do. But once your hormones rebalance, in one to six months after birth, the growth diminishes.

Bottom line: You're no hairier after pregnancy than you were before.
