What is your definition of being strong? Women are often taught that strong women never complain about being tired—that they just push their needs to the side and take care of others. Men are often told that strong men don't ever cry over physical or emotional pain. Dr. Robin wants to know—who told you that lie?
The next time you feel tears coming don't apologize, Dr. Robin says. The next time you're in pain, don't see that as a weakness. "See that as a sign that you are fully human, that you have embraced your birthright to be whole and that you no longer are going to pass that lie on," Dr. Robin says.
"Strength means claiming all of your wholeness, all of your vitality, every feeling that you have," Dr. Robin says. "Go and live your life being really strong, really powerful and living life to the fullest."
