Q: I believe that God exists. How do I teach my 7-year-old son about God?

— Makhandeni G., Limpopo, South Africa

Dear Makhandeni,
All children see God in the shape of their parents. In their imagination, a good, kind, loving mother makes it impossible not to believe in a good, kind, loving God. The time for teaching will come later. For now, prepare the ground so that the seed of belief can grow if and when your child chooses to believe. Act as God would act. No lesson will ever sink deeper or seem truer.
