A very wise man once penned, "What would happen if I wrote down the story of the person who harmed me?" In other words, "What do you know about this person?" He continued, "If you do not know them, what can you find out about them? What do you have in common?" Even if you were to find only one way in which the two of you were similar, even if you were to understand only one fact about this person's life, even if you were to waste an afternoon writing down this meager biography, might it take you just a smidge closer to finding the humanity in that person? Perhaps this is why Archbishop Desmond Tutu posed this question in The Book of Forgiving.

Register today for Archbishop Desmond Tutu's Global Forgiveness Challenge. The free 30-day event, which helps guide you through the path of forgiveness, begins on May 4.
