Medora Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota
Driving through the Badlands the evening of July 11, 2009, there were multiple storm clouds passing. As the sun was beginning to set on the other side, I spotted some wild horses on a hilltop. I jumped out of the car and was very surprised I was able to walk within a few feet of the horses as they continued to eat. The storm clouds were perfectly aligned with the horses, and I was able to get some amazing capture, this one being my favorite of them all.
