Healthcare Crisis

William

Even those involved in the health industry are not exempt from problems with their medical care. William, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, had to retire from his job as the CEO of a hospital because of the disease. "Since retiring, my health insurance has denied me critical medication, and my disability insurance has told me I am no longer disabled," he says. "Besides waking up every day not knowing if I can get out of bed because of my MS, I face a daily battle with my insurance companies.

"Most people can't afford to fight these companies. I think we can't afford not to," he says. "If this can happen to me, it can happen to anyone."
