Empty Nest, Lost Spirit "I studied art in college and got my degree in fashion design. I loved to paint, and I loved sculpture. When I decided to become a mom, I didn't have the time to nurture that part of myself. I poured my heart and soul into my kids." "The day came when the kids went off to school. I didn't really have anything to be passionate about in my life. There was nothing that made me feel stimulated." Nature Intervenes "I started teaching an arts and crafts class to some neighborhood children. When we got hit with the blizzard of '96, we were in the house for four days." "I took out some wire and some beads and started creating these little people. They looked like creatures from another planet, and I decided to call them Moonbabies." Finding and Sharing the Passion "I recruited women who could stay at home, make Moonbabies, take care of their children and still be able to earn money." "In five years we now have grown to a company that employs about 80 people, and we're in about 3,000 stores worldwide. We're now able to donate each year a portion of our proceeds to charities that benefit children." "I finally feel like all the pieces in my life have come together. I'd lost my spirit.
