Remembering Your Spirit

Living On Purpose

Rachel "I found my passion, my creativity and my spirit by going through menopause." — Rachel Brown

Learning from Menopause
"I grew up thinking menopause was negative, that it was the end of things, but it has changed my life for the better... Menopause has been much more of a rite of passage than beginning my period or getting married or even having my children."

"In my mid-40's... I went through a depression. [It] was an opportunity for me to work at issues that I had in the past. I started paying attention to what I needed to make myself feel comfortable and happy with who I was, and I started verbalizing those needs to my family."

Discovering Her Passion
"Menopause had given me permission to look at my dreams and fulfill my dreams. Four years ago, I opened my own business, Rachel's Quilt Patch. And, from the start it was a dream and a challenge all at once."

"It's the hardest work that I've ever done but it's the most focused and directed that I've ever felt. I've never allowed myself to accept what people were saying about me was true - that I had a lot to offer and that I had the ability. When I'm working at the shop, I know I'm living on purpose, and that passion flows into the whole of my life."

Teaching the Next Generation
"The legacy I have to give my daughters, as a woman going through menopause, is much more positive than what I experienced. I like who I am and I love where I am in my life and they know that."
