Shopping Safely Online
When it comes to making online purchases, many people have concerns about the safety of financial transactions on the Internet. Jean talks with Marwan Forzley, CEO of eBillme.com, about making purchases using online banking.

Many people worry about providing their credit card information online. Sites such as eBillme.com provide a way to shop online without submitting your credit card information. Instead, you pay directly from your online banking account—you're billed by the merchant, and then you log in to your bank to pay the bill. "It's money moving from the consumer's bank account to the merchant's bank account," Marwan says. This way, he says you are not offering your credit card and personal information to sites, which can cause people to shy away from buying online.

Marwan says if you are still having concerns about the safety of your online purchases, you can call the merchant directly to find out more information about the validity of their company before you make your purchase. Another idea is to get in touch with the Better Business Bureau, which will verify that the company is established and pays its vendors. "It's a great way to verify the safety and credibility of the merchant," Marwan says.
