Worst-Case Scenario
Your car skids and you plunge off a bridge into murky waters below. You're asleep in your bed at night when an intruder enters your room. If one of these worst-case scenarios happened to you, what would you do? For the April 2007 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, writer Penny Wrenn was asked just that. The result is her article, "O's Worst-Case-Scenario Handbook," in which Penny not only tackles a slew of scary "what-if" situations—she disproves some of our worst fears. Gayle talks to Penny about researching and writing her article, which Penny says will help readers survive just about every imaginable disaster out there. Luckily for readers, Penny says you probably won't have to use the information in her article—but that it's good to have a plan. "These things aren't likely to happen, but you should be prepared just in case," she says.
