Holly says she recently dreamed that she posed nude for a magazine and felt exposed, vulnerable and unable to control who saw the embarrassing photographs. "What it's probably about is not about you actually baring your birthday suit for all to see, but rather baring something else," Lauri says. "Getting something off your chest—revealing something." Lauri says the dream also reflects Holly's concern about how she might look in the eyes of others.
A caller says she had a frightening dream that her husband, who works in construction, was sleeping high up on a beam of a building. When she called to him to wake him up, she says he became startled and fell from the ledge. Lauri says that when someone is asleep in a dream, it usually means they're unaware of something that's going on around them. "They're kind of sleeping through an issue," she says. She helps the caller identify the problem her husband is having at work&8212;the location in the dream—of which he needs to be made aware.
Another caller says she's been having a recurring dream where she's back in her childhood home, senses great danger and is trying to lock a door to keep something bad out—but no matter what, she can't close the door. Lauri says a house in a dream represents our state of mind, and the caller is trying to get back to the state of mind she had as a child. The caller admits she recently quit her job and is trying to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Lauri says the caller's dream is here to help her find her way, and her inability to close the door represents her fears and anxieties in the present. "The door won't lock because it's not meant to be locked," she says. "Leave yourself open to make mistakes."
