(Silver Spring, MD and Los Angeles, CA)—OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and Discovery Networks International (DNI) today announced the continued international expansion of OWN with a weekly block of OWN programming that will air in Australia exclusively on Discovery Home & Health. OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network is a joint venture subscription television network in the United States between Discovery Communications and Harpo Productions, and is the first and only network named for and inspired by a single iconic leader—Oprah Winfrey. Beginning Sunday, August 4 at 7:30 p.m., viewers in Australia will be able to watch the programming at Foxtel/Austar/Optus Channel 640. Popular series airing in the block will include Oprah's Next Chapter, "Super Soul Sunday", America with Lisa Ling (US Title: Our America with Lisa Ling) and The Oprah Winfrey Show (US Title: Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes).
The upcoming launch in Australia follows the recent debut of OWN programming in the United Kingdom on TLC. Additional international offerings of OWN programming within DNI's global lifestyle portfolio are currently being explored and will be announced at a later date.
