It was a match made in Olympic heaven.

Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner met in 1976 at Madison Square Garden in New York during the gymnastics event called the American Cup. Bart was 17 years old, and Nadia was 14. Bart and Nadia each received a silver cup. As they stood next to each other at the podium, Bart tells Oprah: Where Are They Now?, a photographer said, "Wow, she's adorable. Give her a kiss on the cheek. It would make for a nice picture." So Bart gave her a peck on the cheek.

Three months later, Nadia would go on to the Montreal Summer Olympic Games and was awarded the coveted Perfect 10. Bart, meanwhile, placed something like 46th in the gymnastics competition. "Nobody knew me and she didn't certainly pay attention to me," he says, with a smile.

Bart would go on to perform his own Olympic greatness. Then, in 1994, Nadia and Bart got engaged, and in 1996, the couple married in Bucharest, Romania. "I thought that we had to go there to have the wedding because Romania had a big role in everything that I've done and still has," Nadia says, "and I couldn't imagine like doing the wedding somewhere else."

Everyone in the country even got a vacation to celebrate the marriage! "It was a non-working day for everybody," Nadia says. "The entire country didn't go to work!"

Today, the couple live in Norman, Oklahoma, and they visit Romania regularly.
