On September 8, 2008, Oprah moved her season premiere to Chicago's Millennium Park for an all-American salute to the athletes who represented the United States in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. More than 175 gold, silver and bronze medalists—including Michael Phelps, Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, Kobe Bryant and Dara Torres.
"They are sons, daughters, mothers and fathers—champions who made us stand up and cheer," Oprah said. "As we witnessed what seems impossible, we began again to believe in miracles. It made us all just want to be better, fly higher, do more."
