16 Outstanding Oprah Show Openers
They're the season premieres that had everyone buzzing! Look back at Oprah's best kickoff shows.
Season 20: "Oprah's 20th Anniversary Premiere with Jennifer Aniston"
Season 20—which aired September 19, 2005—brought a new set and a visit from "it" girl Jennifer Aniston. Fresh off her divorce from Brad Pitt, Jennifer discussed dating and filming The Break-Up in Chicago. She also revealed a few of her most favorite things: Mexican food, dirty martinis and sunsets.
Next, Oprah introduced the world to the new members of her family—golden retriever puppies Luke, Layla and Gracie. "Stedman and I had a deal. We'd choose one puppy apiece," Oprah says. "We came for two, we're leaving with three."
Oprah also called her viewers to action. Oprah committed $10 million of her own money to build homes and help rebuild lives after Hurricane Katrina. She also launched the Oprah's Angel Network Katrina Homes Registry so viewers could help "make a house a home" with furniture, picture frames and other items lost in Katrina's wake.
