Lisa Loeb on Having Children in Her 40s: "I'm Really Lucky"

In 2009, singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb married Roey Hershkovitz. That same year, Lisa gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Lyla Rose. Then, when Lisa was 44 years old, she gave birth to their second child, a boy named Emet. Now, this 47-year-old musician and mother advises younger women to start thinking about family before they turn 40.

"I hate to say it because I want women to be able to do anything whenever they want, but if you want to have your own child, it's something that you really do need to focus on—the sooner the better," she says. "I'm really lucky that I was able to have two really healthy, beautiful children in my 40s."
