In its 25 years on the air, The Oprah Show never backed down from tough conversations about race, and TV Guide chose Oprah's show in Forsyth County, Georgia, as the most significant. Back then, Forsyth County was known as a hotbed of racism. Not one single black person had lived there since World War I.
