Try Recipes from Kris Carr's New Cookbook!Posted: Thu 12/08/2011 02:05 PM
Change. It's the only thing that's constant. And yet it's also the hardest thing to do. Or is it? Maybe change is easier than we think. Maybe all we need to change is our minds and the rest will follow. When I changed to an animal-free, plant-based diet nine years ago, I was worried that it would affect more than just my plate. I thought it'd put a cramp in my style, my social life and romantic relationships, that going veg would take too much time, and ultimately be unfulfilling. That limited belief turned out to be a scary, small feeling—'not a fact. In reality, the simple act of changing my plate, change my life for the better. My overall health improved, I met and married my soul mate, changed my career, committed my life to helping others, negative relationships ended and healthy friendships began. Overall, it was a win win situation! Oh, and forty looks pretty good when you're plant-based. I'm just saying. One of the relationships I'm most grateful for this holiday season is my friendship with chef Chad Sarno. After the success of my last book, Crazy Sexy Diet, I was approached to do a full on cookbook. Folks had experienced such tangible results from my lifestyle game plan, and they wanted more. Yeah, me too! So I called my friend Chad, (an amazing and talented man I'd never have met unless I ditched my unhealthy lifestyle and opened myself to new experiences and people) and asked him if he would bring his bright culinary genius to my cookbook. He said yes! So I am super proud to announce that together, Chad and I are working on Crazy Sexy Kitchen. My grandma would be so proud! She was a great chef, except she used buckets of butter and had serious health issues.
Our goal for Kitchen is to expand the Crazy Sexy Lifestyle by giving my readers more tips, tools, education and deliciously innovative, plant-based recipes for their personal wellness revolution. I'm having so much fun writing this book and I can't wait to share it with you all next fall. Till then, here's a little sample from our holiday table to yours... May the New Year bring you ultimate health, spiritual wealth and happiness! Peace & veggies, Kris
