TheDailyLove.com founder took a few minutes out of a trip to London to tell us how a call from friend, mentor and TheDailyLove.com contributor Marianne Williamson changed his perspective and strengthened his relationship with his girlfriend of one year, Jenna. When I heard from Marianne that Oprah was going to feature her on "Super Soul Sunday," I was THRILLED because Marianne has been such an amazing force in my life, both as a teacher and as a friend.

Marianne played a crucial role in my relationship with Jenna, my girlfriend of one year—helping us through times where my ego reared it's ugly head and tried to destroy the emerging Love that was between us. I got an email from Marianne one day that changed my life. She emailed me and said that she got a hit during meditation that Jenna and I might benefit from coming to see her. When you get an email like that from Marianne, you go!

When we got there, we started talking about our relationship, and Marianne was able to help me see how, even though I meant well, I was on the path to losing Jenna if I didn't change my ways. She REALLY challenged me in a way that no other person could to look at my actions and take ownership over them. It was a total full-circle moment for me because, about two years prior, I was at a Pat Allen seminar declaring that I wanted to stop being "Peter Pan" and grow up to be a "real man". Marianne doesn't remember it, but she was in the front row, not knowing that one day soon we would be great friends. And, Jenna moved to L.A. the day AFTER I made this declaration!

Some how Spirit found a way for us to complete that declaration two years later in her apartment with my beloved Jenna. I will be forever grateful to Marianne for the role she has played in my life, and I know Jenna is too.

I believe that we come to teach in life what we must learn ourselves. Marianne is such an embodiment of authenticity and Love, the way that she walks her talk inspires me daily. And there isn't a person I know who hasn't been influenced by her work.

As you will see on "Super Soul Sunday," if you are unfamiliar with Marianne or know her work well—she is a living Master on this planet. Her wisdom transcends personal growth and spirituality and spills over into politics and true activism. I have the privilege of being able to catch Marianne speak regularly in Los Angeles, and every time I do, I learn more simply by being in her presence—more than by anything that she says.

There's a phrase that goes "Wisdom is caught, not taught." If you've ever had the privilege of being able to see Marianne speak, you will know what I am talking about. It's amazing to me that the union between Oprah and Marianne happened in the first place. Their meeting and the worldwide phenomenon that is A Return to Love may have been one of the most impactful moments in the transformational space since Napoleon Hill wrote Think and Grow Rich.

Personally, I have learned how crazy subtle my ego can be, and that it is only when we are being Love that Love is returned to us. Marianne has been able to be the message bearer for A Course in Miracles, a text that has inspired millions because of Marianne's work with the Course.
