See the conversation now! Be sure to tune in Sunday morning at 8 a.m. or 12 p.m. ET/PT to watch Tom's documentary, I Am. I Am Assignment #2: Decide What You Really Need in LifePosted: Tue 12/27/2011 07:00 AM
Intention: In I Am, you'll see that Tom Shadyac realized his big house, fancy cars and private plane didn't bring him happiness. He found the contentment he sought after downsizing. And he's not alone. Look at nature—nothing in nature takes more than it needs, so why should we? Assignment: Today, look around your home and make a list of what you can live without. Then, give up one thing. If after today you discover you don't need it, pay it forward and give this item to someone in need. Examples: If you can get by with five pairs of shoes, not the 20 in your closet, donate them to your favorite organization. Are there more computers in your house than there are people? Donate the ones you don't need to a local school or senior center. Watch I Am on "Super Soul Sunday" January 1 at 8 a.m. and noon ET/PT. Missed an assignment? Catch up here! I Am Assignment #1: Shift Your ThinkingPosted: Mon 12/26/2011 07:00 AM
This Sunday is the start of a new year and new you—and there's no better way to kick off 2012 than to watch the network premiere of Tom Shadyac's enlightening documentary I Am. As you'll see in the film, even the tiniest bit of goodwill can change the world. So let's get a head start. Every day this week, we're issuing a small step challenge to help you positively change your mindset and perhaps the world around you. Check back every morning for a new assignment! Intention: Change starts with consciousness and changing your definition of yourself. So let's get honest. Assignment: Write down the definition of who you think you are right now. Then, write down the definition of who you want to be. Compare the two and decide on three New Year's resolutions you can make to help you become who you want to be. Put them on a piece of paper and place them somewhere you will see them every day. Examples: If you vow to eat healthier foods, stick your resolutions on your refrigerator. If you want to spend more time with family and friends, tape your resolutions to your computer. Watch I Am on "Super Soul Sunday" January 1 at 8 a.m. and noon ET/PT.
