Life is made of experiences—some we choose, and some that choose us. Six months into his second tour in Baghdad, Brian was hit by a roadside bomb and medically discharged after nearly 13 years of service. He's on the mend from his physical injuries but still struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder. Watch above as Brian opens up about why returning to Baghdad after the incident helped him find some answers. Plus, Brian explains why he's truly blessed.

Together with Jonas this Sunday, we will see the different ways Brian has tried to heal physically, mentally and spiritually. Don't miss this journey—or the lessons it will teach us about our own lives.

In Deep Shift with Jonas Elrod airs Sunday, February 3,  at 12 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.
