Meet the Team: Heather McGinleyPosted: Thu 08/23/2012 10:30 AM
Name: Heather McGinley Education: I hold a BFA in Production Management from The Theatre School at DePaul University (say that three times fast!) How long have you worked at Harpo? I am coming up on my 9th anniversary at Harpo. I started out as a Runner for The Oprah Winfrey Show, which is a fancy term for the person who runs all over Chicago to round up the random and crazy things that a television show might potentially need. Who would play you in a movie? Shaun White. He understands the daily emotional trauma inflicted by my unruly red hair. Favorite SoulPancake episode: I love, love, love “Heart Attack.” Everyone needs a random act of kindness and love sometimes! Meet the Team: Amy WardPosted: Wed 06/27/2012 08:00 AM
Name: Amy Ward Job title: Co-executive producer, "Super Soul Sunday" As a co-executive producer, what's your job like? Every day is different, but co-ep Lisa Weiss and I get to read some of the most influential books ever written, like Be Here Now; research and speak with thought leaders like Gary Zukav; supervise the production of interviews with spiritual teachers like Eckhart Tolle; and then oversee the editing of those conversations into "Super Soul Sunday" episodes with the help of our passionate and dedicated production team. Education: I went to Northwestern University because I could take amazing classes in history and philosophy at the same time I was studying television and film production. It truly was the best of both worlds. Meet the Super Soul Sunday Team: Zachary PerlinskiPosted: Thu 04/05/2012 12:00 PM
First up, meet Zachary D. Perlinski, our hard-working Production Assistant Extraordinaire. Those beautiful “Breathing Space” features we all enjoy each week? Zach shot most of them! He’s a man of many talents, and we’re thrilled to have him on board. As a Production Assistant, what’s your job like? I’m so glad you asked! Each morning, my day begins with a fitness kick at Club O, the gym at Harpo Studios. At 9:00 a.m., it’s all hands on deck for Super Soul Sunday. My job as a production assistant allows for collaboration with producers, editors, and technical staff to maximize my creative skill set. Monitoring social media, organizing legal clearances, and filming “Breathing Space” segments are all part of the routine. Many of those wonderful comments posted on Facebook, Twitter, and Oprah.com are sent out to the team, so keep them coming! Education: I’m a proud telecommunications graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Go Cardinals... the “fiercest robin-sized” bird in the entire world! How long have you worked at Harpo Studios? I was hired in August 2011, so that makes it just about 8 months.
