How Marianne Williamson Helped Mastin Kipp Return to Love

Posted: Fri 07/27/2012 08:00 AM
Welcome back, Mastin Kipp! TheDailyLove.com founder took a few minutes out of a trip to London to tell us how a call from friend, mentor and TheDailyLove.com contributor Marianne Williamson changed his perspective and strengthened his relationship with his girlfriend of one year, Jenna. Read on to find out how! (And don't miss Oprah's interview with Marianne Williamson this Sunday at 11 a.m. ET/PT.)

When I heard from Marianne that Oprah was going to feature her on "Super Soul Sunday," I was THRILLED because Marianne has been such an amazing force in my life, both as a teacher and as a friend.

Marianne played a crucial role in my relationship with Jenna, my girlfriend of one year—helping us through times where my ego reared it's ugly head and tried to destroy the emerging Love that was between us. I got an email from Marianne one day that changed my life. She emailed me and said that she got a hit during meditation that Jenna and I might benefit from coming to see her. When you get an email like that from Marianne, you go!

No Matter How Dark, the Light Is Available to You! Reflections on Lost in Woonsocket

Posted: Fri 02/24/2012 09:00 AM
This week, "Super Soul Sunday" will feature Lost in Woonsocket, an inspirational film that documents the lives of two homeless men who attempt to get sober and start truly living again. TheDailyLove.com founder Mastin Kipp, who knows what it's like to suffer from drug addiction, shares his thoughts on Lost in Woonsocket and talks about what you can take away from the documentary.

This beautiful doc is about some very loving filmmakers who help two men stuck in the dark depths of alcohol addiction try to step back into the Light.

I won't talk much about the story because I know you are going to tune in to OWN Sunday morning at 11/10c to watch "Super Soul Sunday"! So what I'm going to talk about here on the blog is the deep meaning in this amazing piece and how it applies to YOUR life!

The takeaway for me from this moving film is that no matter how dark your life may be, no matter how impossible it may seem to overcome the challenges in your life, there is an answer, and there is a way out.

I'm reminded of one of my favorite Wayne Dyer quotes. He says, "I am realistic; I expect miracles." Wayne doesn't say this from an arrogant point of view! NO! Rather he understands how The Uni-verse works. The Uni-verse is like a miracle machine. And if we are looking for miracles in our lives, we will begin to see them everywhere.

5 Tips to Live the Love from Love Etc.

Posted: Thu 02/09/2012 03:00 PM
TheDailyLove.com's Mastin Kipp is back and talking about what he knows best—love! We at "Super Soul Sunday" wanted to get his take on this week's documentary Love Etc., which follows five real love stories over the course of one year in New York City. Get his five tips on how to find epic love in your life, inspired by his favorite couple in the film—elderly couple Albert and Marion. (He thinks they might just become your favorite, too!)

The title of this blog SHOULD BE "5 Tips to Live the Love of Albert and Marion". They are so connected at a soul level that it brought tears to my eyes. These two really embody what love is, and I only hope that I am blessed enough to grow up and be like them. They have a love for each other that transcends time, space, age, gender, mental conditions, life conditions and even tasteless food at the senior center. They love each other and that's a fact. It's epic love.

If you want epic love, these are some of the best tips I know that apply to men and women.

1. Fall in Love with a Soul, Not Just a Body
This is much easier for women to do than men. It's been said that men get turned on when they see a beautiful woman; women get turned on when they hear a man who cares about them and they feel can safely meet their needs. How many times have you seen a knockout woman with a guy that is less than knock-out? That's because women are not as visual as men. Given that this is a blog on Oprah.com written by the guy from TheDailyLove.com, chances are most of the folks reading this blog are female, but this information is vital for men too. If you are looking for that real soul-piercing love, you have to first love a person's spirit, then his or her body. Because as we get older, bodies change, get older, fatter, wrinklier, and sometimes they don't work as well as they used to.

This is why it's important to be not only with someone whom you have chemistry with but also, most importantly, with someone who is your friend. Sex is sex, and lust fades. But love and friendship will go on forever. You can have both—passion and friendship—but the deeper the connection as souls, the deeper the passion too.
