Becoming Ram Dass

Born in 1931 to a wealthy family outside of Boston, Richard Alpert was the star of his family. By 27, he was an assistant professor at Harvard University with a corner office. When another professor, Timothy Leary, moved into the office next door in 1959, Richard Alpert began the journey to become the man we know today—Ram Dass.
