Dr. Oz, Part 2

Aired: 01/30/2012
Dr. Oz and Rosie
About This Episode
Rosie's one-on-one conversation with Dr. Oz, America's favorite physician, continues. After opening up about his childhood, Dr. Oz tackles hot-button issues like health insurance and the country's obesity epidemic. He explains why he thinks it's criminal to deny any patient medical care, regardless of their insurance status. Plus, he reveals two fundamental problems that he says are contributing to weight issues.

Then, Rosie opens up about her long struggle with depression and sleep apnea. A good night's sleep, Dr. Oz says, is directly related to good health, and he shares tips for those who toss and turn all night, like letting the room get dark 30 minutes before bedtime.

Lastly, Rosie and Dr. Oz discuss a topic often stigmatized in society: mental illness. To explain how a woman's brain processes anxiety differently than a man's brain, Dr. Oz busts out two pairs of purple gloves and a human brain.
