Yvette's decision to go into law enforcement came from her time as a Spanish linguist with the DEA. Seeing her work make a difference and helping get drugs off the streets was so exciting, it pushed her down the law enforcement path. After three years as a police officer, busting open-air drug sales is still her favorite activity, and she's great at it! She knows all of the back alleys where the deals go down, and just a few months ago she got a plastic shopping bag filled with crack rocks off the street – that score was a huge accomplishment! If she ever has a free moment in between calls and sniffing out drug deals, Yvette can be found cruising the neighborhoods talking to anyone and everyone, especially the kids. One of her favorite things to do is to yell out the car window "Are you guys behaving??" just to see their reactions. A goofball at heart, Yvette is a known prankster at the department. She's always finding ways to mess with the other officers. Her time off duty is most often family time. Yvette lives with her five-year-old son and her partner of eight years - who she just recently proposed to! They don't have a wedding date set quite yet, but Yvette could not be happier -- both at home and on the job.
