Tonight's premiere episode of Our America on OWN is called, "Shades of Kink." We decided to explore the real world of kink after the phenomenal success of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. Before the book hit the scene, I admittedly would not have wanted to do a show about bondage, domination and sado-masochism or BDSM at all. I knew little about BDSM other than it looked severe and that the people who participated in it seemed to be freaks. But that was me with my judgmental hat on; one with which I am constantly trying to do away.
