Deepak Chopra: Knowing Your Body Type Can Lead to Balance

Dr. Deepak Chopra, a holistic health expert and Oprah's longtime friend, made an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1993 to discuss the direct impact that our thoughts have on our health and the aging process.

During their conversation, Deepak outlined the three basic body types found in ayurvedic medicine, which originated on the Indian subcontinent. The "vata," "kapha," and "pitta" body types describe not only the physical aspects of a person but also the behavioral manifestations in that individual.

Deepak explains that, typically, people tend to be a combination of two types, and that knowing our body type could help us interpret signals that our bodies are constantly emitting.

"Knowing your body type," Deepak says, "helps you to create more balance in your life."
