Before John Legend became one of the biggest names in music, he was John Stephens, a boy born into a churchgoing, gospel-singing family just outside of Springfield, Ohio. John was considered a prodigy when he started high school at age 12, and after graduating as class salutatorian at age 16, he enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania.
