Matthew Sandusky Addresses Jerry Sandusky's Shower Incident with Victim 4

Aired on 07/17/2014 | CC tv-14
During Jerry Sandusky's 2012 trial, a man known in court documents as Victim 4 detailed the sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of the former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach. His testimony about what happened with Sandusky in a shower helped a jury convict the former coach on 45 counts of child sexual abuse.

Jerry Sandusky's adopted son Matthew came forward halfway through the trial and revealed that he, too, had been abused by his adoptive father. "I know how it happened for me whenever you get in the shower," he says.

Matthew says he was nearby during the incident Victim 4 described in court. Victim 4 was younger than Matthew, and Matthew says they would play racquetball with Jerry Sandusky. "If we went to shower, I would try and shower as quickly as possible," Matthew says. "He would keep [Victim 4] back, and he was talking to him. I didn't think at that time that anything was happening to him sexually."

At that time, Matthew says, he never thought Jerry Sandusky was abusing any other children. "I thought that I was the one still," he says.

In this exclusive clip, find out why Matthew believed he was "the chosen one."
