In 2012, former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was convicted on 45 counts of child sexual abuse. After the trial, the school and a law firm identified 25 other men and Jerry Sandusky's adopted son Matthew as credible victims, paying out $59.7 million in varied amounts. Some critics say Matthew came forward for the money.
