Matthew Sandusky Confronts Jerry Sandusky: "I'm Remembering Things"

Aired on 07/17/2014 | CC tv-14
In 2012, former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was convicted on 45 counts of child sexual abuse. Halfway through the nine-day criminal trial, his adopted son Matthew revealed to police that he had been molested by Jerry Sandusky from the time he was a child.

When the trial started, Jerry Sandusky's legal team initially planned to call Matthew as a character witness. Previously, Matthew had told authorities he had never been abused by his adoptive father. Then, Matthew says, he started remembering things. "If he were to get me on that stand, I would tell the truth," Matthew says. "And I wanted to go there and at least offer him that ... tell him what I would do."

Halfway through the trial, he spoke with his adoptive father at home. "I told him that I was remembering things," Matthew says. "And what he said to me was, 'Not sexual.'" Watch as Matthew recounts the last conversation he had with Jerry Sandusky in this exclusive clip.
