Director, Booking & Talent Relations / The Oprah Winfrey Show
Cindy has been with The Oprah Winfrey Show for 12 seasons and is the Director of Booking and Talent Relations at the broadcast. Cindy oversees a staff that is responsible for booking the guests who appear on almost every episode of the program. From newsmakers to authors and celebrities, her team works tirelessly to bring the stories that America is talking about to Oprah Show viewers. Cindy also oversees all of the bookings for the annual "After Oscars Party" shows and primetime Oscar specials.
Cindy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She landed her first television job in Washington, DC as an associate producer at CNN working on the cable network's political programs, Capital Gang, Crossfire and Reliable Sources. From CNN, Cindy moved to ABC where she was a segment producer for Good Morning America and covered numerous high-profile trials and news stories for the network. Cindy was part of the ABC News team that covered O.J. Simpson's trial, the Columbine school massacre, the Oklahoma City bombing and the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. In 1999, Cindy moved to Chicago and began her career with The Oprah Show as an associate producer.
Cindy and her husband, Jack, a senior producer on The Oprah Show, have three young sons. This working mom juggles a full schedule that includes serving as a mentor for her alma mater and years as a member of the University's Board of Visitors. Cindy begins each day with a 5:30 a.m. boot camp workout and is an avid follower of The Bar Method. She also enjoys reading in her spare time and spends each fall rooting for her favorite NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings. Cindy says her proudest accomplishment at The Oprah Show was when she and her team booked more than 175 Olympic medalists from Team USA for a special season premiere episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2008 titled "Welcome Home Team USA's Olympic Stars" from Millennium Park in Chicago.
