Kevin Hart Opens Up About His Mother's Death

Before Kevin Hart's mother, Nancy, died of cancer in 2007, she was the glue that held the family together. She raised Kevin largely on her own and frequently coordinated family get-togethers as her two sons became adults. When Nancy passed, the Harts struggled to cope with the loss, but Kevin says they all make sure Nancy's energy and values live on.

"All that energy went to my dad and to my brother. This is our little family," Kevin says. "If we don't try to make this last name mean something, then we have nothing that's going to live on. My last name means something now, but it's because we made it mean something."
