Yolanda's Blog: Episode 1

Posted: Mon 11/19/2012 10:59 AM

Phenomenal... I just watched Episode 1.  It is really weird seeing myself on television. I am grateful for the overwhelming support on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks to Ms. Winfrey and the OWN Team for honoring our Military Spouses during Oprah's Favorite Things. We are most appreciative that the OWN Team and 44Blue have collaborated to tell the story of the "soldiers on the other side of the battlefield" in the Married to the Army:  Alaska show. This is especially timely as November is Military Family Appreciation month.

I really like the Get Involved tab. This demonstrates that this project encompasses more than a television show. This endeavor exceeds being mere entertainment. We would like to show you our "reality." I am so honored to have the sacrifices of the soldiers, spouses, and children shown.

Episode 1 displays true sisterhood! It isn't always pretty. Instead, it is sometimes challenging. Most familial relationships are challenging! They require work. It is interesting to note that the most opposition to the initiation of a relationship occurs when the two people can benefit from one another the most...

What are your thoughts? Are you great friends with someone who you initially disliked? Does sisterhood mean the relationship is always harmonious? How do you work through difficult times and discord in your relationships?
