Lindsey's Blog: Episode 5

Alright so this was a busy episode: I attended the Army Ball, Traci had a blow up at the Fashion Show, and Blair hosted a Summer Solstice Extravaganza. I never attended a ball until I met Phillip. I never knew about the protocol and all the little tidbits one should know when attending, hence the handbook. A lot of people are wondering why I would go to the ball without my husband.

I know I have a lot of thoughts about last night's episodes. I also know that sometimes, you should keep your thoughts to yourself. I can, however, share these:

Morris and I are so grateful for the sacrifices of our families and soldiers. We were honored to put the Spartan Mid Tour Celebration together to celebrate the families. There are no other group of spouses who can bravely send their soldiers off to war. Yet, they stand day after day. The children give also.

It's a little tough sharing your struggles with America. But, from the responses I'm getting, I can see that a lot of spouses can relate. I've never been one to feel like I needed help from anyone, but taking that step to see Stephanie Summer empowered me. Our sessions covered so much more ground than they could put on the show, and each time I left Stephanie's office, I truly had a clearer understanding of who I am at this point in my life. Thank you, Stephanie. I would recommend counseling to anyone who is having a hard time figuring things out on their own.

Traci had a house fire. Wow. I still remember driving by on my way to pick up my kids from the on post daycare and seeing the fire trucks outside her house. This wasn't long after our little "tisk" as Traci would say, but I already knew what had to be done.

Thanks so much for your support of Married to the Army: Alaska. It is such an honor to tell our stories. It was really hard to relive some of the scenes from this episode. I remember the feeling in my heart when I saw my husband get off the plane. He was weeping as he emerged from the door...

Blair's Blog: Episode 3

I just finished watching last night's episode for the second time. The first thing I need to address, because it's really bothering me, is my "@#$% you" comment. I can't stop thinking about it. I shouldn't have said that. I even remember being in that exact moment and after I said it to Brian, I thought to myself, "You shouldn't have said that, Blair." I have never said that to him before, or since. And, that's not something I ever say to anyone. I think it, but I don't say it. I am a human being and sometimes I say things I don't mean. I'm not asking for forgiveness. Yes I am. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to Brian. And, I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I'm embarrassed.
