Traci grew up in Pikesville, Maryland, a suburb of the great city of Baltimore. She was raised by both parents in a very observant Jewish community in a Jewish home. She has two older brothers and a younger sister. During her childhood years and throughout her high school career, Traci was on the Varsity soccer team where she "made a complete fool of herself." She played trumpet in the school band since 5th grade and later "was a big enough nerd to go on to play for the Marching Ravens, the Baltimore Ravens marching band." After high school she attended a local college and finished through online schooling so that her education could follow her in her travels.

In 2009, Traci moved to South Carolina where she worked for Hooters of America as a Hooters Girl and Promotional Model. In 2010, while waiting tables, she met the love of her life, her hero and her best friend. Jared happened to be stationed at Fort Jackson for several months and (because he loves wings) became a regular customer. Nine days later he was crazy enough to let her take him off the market and become his extremely proud and adoring wife.

In June of 2010, Jared received Army assignment orders to Fort Richardson, Alaska. The two loaded up their two crazy puppies and headed on a six-day drive through the Lower 48 and Canada, until they reached their first home together in the last frontier. They immediately fell in love with the 49th state and all of the incredible experiences it offers. They spent many summer weekends camping and fishing as well as staying up all night, forgetting that the sunset is not an indicator of when to go to sleep.

Shortly after settling into their new home, Traci began working for the Alaska Commission on Judicial Conduct as the assistant to the Executive Director and the Commission. While being stuck inside during the cold and dark Alaskan winter though, they conceived their daughter McKinley, and before long Traci resigned from her position to prepare for the great gift of motherhood. McKinley was born in October of 2011.

Shortly after her birth, Jared was deployed to Afghanistan with the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry, in November to proudly serve in Operation Enduring Freedom.
