Lovetown, USA
Inside the Episode: Lovetown Ambassador Alicia BertinePosted: Tue 09/18/2012 01:30 PM
But, it was work. We wanted to inspire the entire town, not just part of it. As I had discovered, you can't just wish for love to come into a town...or a home or a heart. You have to work at it. We had huge success with the Lovetown Art Walk. Paul and Kailen worked tirelessly to motivate the locals to turn up for the event, and to truly embrace the Lovetown concept. The art walk offered everyone a chance to embrace their creative side too, something I always feel strongly about. I loved seeing so many new faces at the art walk. It meant that the experiment was working and that the word had spread. And with it, so had the love! At this point, we're starting to see people realize that there's work involved when it comes to love. I saw the realization on the singles’ faces, as well. I felt a lot of sympathy for them as they dealt with feelings of hope, confusion, disappointment and fear. I had experienced those same feelings, and I began to realize just how guarded I had been at the beginning of the experiment. My illness had made me guard my heart and my feelings. Now, I felt myself losing that armor, simply embracing the love and kindness I was seeing all around me. It was inspiring to watch the same thing happen to Martina, Dan, Ron and all the other singles. Also, seeing Sara Evans was a blast!
