Inside the Episode: Alicia Bertine on Building a True Lovetown

Posted: Mon 10/01/2012 09:00 PM
As Lovetown approached its final days, I was so inspired by Paul and Kailen and the tireless ways in which they worked to motivate and cheer on the people of the town.

They did this in small ways and big ways and it was amazing to see how each thing fed the other—it was a great lesson to learn.  One small gesture of sadness or hopelessness might bring down a whole neighborhood—but by the same token, a smile, a good deed, a love letter, or a few words of hope could change everything.

As the town came together to finish its community projects large and small, Paul and Kailen’s work reminded me of that famous old poem about the horseshoe nail. Because the nail was lost; the horseshoe was lost; the horse was lost; the rider was lost; the battle was lost; and the war was lost; "and all for want of a horseshoe nail."

Paul and Kailen reminded each of us on Lovetown that we are all capable of inspiring, doing, and accomplishing great things. Each one of us can be a catalyst for love and change.
