The love experiment is under way! After leaving Kingsland, Oprah calls into the local radio station to motivate the community with a quote from Martin Luther King Jr.: "Not everyone can be famous, but everybody can be great because greatness is determined by service." With this new inspiration, community leaders join love coaches Paul and Kailen at a town hall meeting to begin planning service projects.
Then, Paul and Kailen send the six singles off on first dates. Dan is matched with Aimee. Ron reconnects with Anya, an old flame, and Charles plans a night out with Josie. Martina gets some advice from Kailen before meeting up with Clarence, and Franchesca is set up with Philip. Alicia meets her date, James, for dinner. Meanwhile, Paul sits down with the warring owners of three dance studios. Accusations fly as the dispute comes to a head. Paul challenges the studios to come together in the name of love and put on a joint performance—in less than 36 hours! Aired: 08/19/2012
Let's get the love on! Oprah challenges the small town of Kingsland, Georgia—formerly known as the marriage capital of the South—and its sister cities to open their hearts to love for one month. The goal? Spread love around the community while reconciling feuds and helping people find their soul mates.
On day one, thousands gather at a love rally to hear Oprah's call to action and meet the love coaches, Paul Brunson and Kailen Rosenberg. After the rally, Oprah stops by Lovetown, USA headquarters to get a peek at the six singles Paul and Kailen have selected to help find lasting love. While getting to know Kingsland and its residents, Paul discovers that there's a bitter feud among three dance studio owners. Determined to find a resolution, Paul invites the three owners to meet and try to move beyond their rivalries. Finally, Paul and Kailen plan a cocktail party for all the singles in the area and observe their six lonely hearts—Franchesca, Martina, Alicia, Charles, Dan and Ron—in action. |
