Why did I get involved with Lovetown, USA: At first, I thought Lovetown, USA was just another dating show, but I should have known that Oprah had bigger plans for Kingsland. On day one, I heard Oprah's words, and I understood what she was challenging us to do. So I decided to get involved by helping to organize community members who wanted to make a difference. I decided to "be the love"...but more on that as the show progresses. Where to watch the premiere: This has been such an amazing experience for our small town. Name: Paul Carrick Brunson Age: 36 Hometown: Washington, D.C. First Date: I was an early dater...very early. I recall in the 4th grade, after school, walking a girl to the playground and sharing my lunch with her that I saved from earlier that day. We ate, talked and played on the swings. Good times! Best Date: Hands down, the first date with my wife was my all-time best date. It was over 12 years ago, and I still think about it often. We ate at Pizza Hut; I picked cheese out of her braces. Then, we saw Hell Raiser 2, and she talked through the entire movie. We then drove to a nearby beach and ran into a homeless gentleman that did the most amazing magic tricks we had ever seen. Age: 45 Hometown: Minnetonka and Manhattan Beach, Minnesota, in addition to various yogi camps and hippie communes. (Raised by grandparents and mom who was a free-spirited hippie.) First Date: Seventh grade, roller skating at the roller rink during "Snowball," holding hands and being nervous about my first kiss (smooch)! Best Date: With my now husband! While first dating, hiking in nature during the change of the fall leaves, on a brisk and cool afternoon, with the sun shining down, followed by hot chocolate at a beautiful restaurant while we stared into each others eyes knowing we'd be married someday. Worst Date: With a guy who spoke/bragged nonstop about himself for over three hours then proceeded to tell me how great of a kisser he was...and that he would be kissing me soon so I could experience it for myself. He didn't get that kiss, and I was out of there faster than the speed of lightening. Advertisement
