Shaniece's Struggle with Baby Fat and Body Image: "I Wasn't Always Comfortable"

Shaniece has dabbled in modeling over the years, but now she says she's looking to make it more of a career. While her mother is in New York City, Shaniece heads to the beach for a cover shoot with shuString Magazine.

While Shaniece's hair and makeup team gets her glammed up, she talks with magazine editors about the swimwear line she's hoping to launch. "I've always been, like, obsessed with swimsuits. And, I felt like, in the past, maybe I wasn't as comfortable wearing them, and now I kind of am," she says. "Now I love myself in a swimsuit, and I want other women to love themselves in a swimsuit too."

Shaniece may have a figure that most women would envy, but that wasn't always the case, she says. "When I was younger, I had baby fat, and I remember people used to say, 'Oh, you're just big-boned,'" she says. "I still don't know what big-boned means, but I wasn't always comfortable or had the right confidence."
