Evelyn Voices Her Opinion About Shaniece's Spending Habits

After an emotional visit with her mother, Evelyn is starting to think seriously about her own financial future—as well as her daughter's spending habits. During a visit with Shaniece, Evelyn opens up about her mother's money problems. "I talked to you about her s***, her finances, her life so she can be a mirror to all of us of what we don't want and how we need to just plan better," Evelyn says.

Evelyn thinks Shaniece needs to be smarter with her savings and not throw away $18,000 on an extravagant birthday gift for her boyfriend. "I've been through so much," Evelyn says. "I value and respect the dollar. I want her to do the same."

Shaniece, on the other hand, says her mother needs to learn to trust her judgment and keep her opinions to herself. "I feel like I am my own person," she says. "At some point, my mom, as well as other parents [who] I'm sure go through this, they need to back off."
